MKIII Gravel Road

DSC01602.JPG

The MKIV Cross,  was our first foray out of the track bike world and laid the groundwork for the rest of the MK Road Series. This is the frame that gave birth to our renowned tube manipulation and shaping process - one of the main features that distinguishes Low Bicycles as a world class manufacturer of Aluminum frames.

While sharing many similarities with the MK Road Series, the MKIV Cross features a Cyclocross specific tubeset and geometry, designed for racing varied and challenging terrain. We went with a stout rear triangle for race ready stiffness, bit with smaller downtube to balance out the feel. A slightly lower stack height allows for a more aggressive body position better suited for racing. A higher bottom bracket allows for more manueverability and clearance in tightly winding cyclocross courses, while a slightly slacker head tube angle allows for stability and control in short, steep climbs and descents.

Color Options

While the MKI AND MKII are all business, this new addition is our most laid back and versatile bike in the lineup, but wouldn’t be a LOW// if it wasn’t made to go fast. The MKIII Gravel Road is designed for long days in the saddle and exploring strange new (or old) roads at any speed you can handle.

The MKIII road frame employs a similar custom extruded and shaped tubeset to the other frames in the MK Road Series, with some key, gravel specific differences. Smaller seat stays for more compliance and increased clearance in the chainstays, to allow for a wide range of tire sizes. Our gravel specific geometry features lower bottom bracket and slacker head tube angle for stability, while the increased head tube stack allows for a more relaxed riding position.
